This week we created ecosystems in a Jar. Each group is a proud owner of a land ecosystem as well as a water ecosystem. We talked about living and non living things that work together to make this a system. The Jars are sealed and therefore, we discussed what would enable this to work and sustain life. We discussed the role, or niche of plants, aka producers as well as consumers. The importance of photosynthesis, the water cycle, and the carbon dioxide/oxygen cycle.
